A hot new trailer can be seen here for the new game in the series coming out shortly. You can see some new enemies, some of the new deadly weapons, new levels and areas. Mixed in with a menacing soundtrack making it sound urgent and that you are gravely in danger, it shows off the game in a small timeframe, yet personally makes me want more. The game is due out in February next year on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
News just at hand: Apple pays Chuck Norris 99 cents every time he listens to a song. Ok ok, I just made a funny, but it is semi true now. You play the celebrated martial arts star as he takes on the Cambodian jungle and enemies to look for prisoners of war through 13 levels of game play. You can actually see the teaser trailer here.

Rebellion are the guys making the new Aliens vs. Predator gaming and they are including DX11 into the mix and the game will be published by Sega. Chris Kingsley, CTO of Rebellion said, “DirectX 11 provides opportunities never exploited before in 3D graphical terms, with features such as the Shader Model 5.0 providing better shadow and depth of field aspects to the game, and also multi-threaded rendering enabling the Aliens Vs. Predator futuristic characters and environments to be realised in exacting detail but with absolutely no frame rate issues. We are confident we will deliver a game the fans have been waiting for and one of which we will be very proud.” This means that games should start saving up for the next generation of DX11 cards if they do not have any and probably upgrade their rigs with hardware and software advancements for battle. This game will be out in February 2010 on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
Will DX11 make much of a difference in the gaming world?
October 22 is usually a plain day for people. This year it is special for two reasons. Firstly, in Hobart it is a public holiday due to the Show and secondly Microsoft starts selling their latest operating system at retail level. That’s right, some stores were open at midnight to start selling copies of Windows 7 in various flavours, others opened up at 7am this morning. In Australia we are lucky; at the moment we are one of the first to start the new day and first to try Windows 7. With lots of people loving the RC and saying good things, this os will eclipse Vista it seems. If Windows is not your thing, keep a look out for the new Mac’s or OS X from Apple or the latest Ubuntu Karnic Koala if that is your thing.
Are you going to run Windows 7 and if so which version?
It is one of those big companies that everyone thinks is infallible. But like every company, they have their ups and downs. Even after the recent price cut for the Wii, the Nintendo Company will lose some profit for the first time in years. Is this a sign of the world economy having more issues or just time for a new console?
What do you think? Who else could be having trouble in the gaming world?
People are majorly annoyed with Infinity Wards latest and probably biggest failure to satisfy people. The game itself will have no dedicated servers, but will feature a matchmaking mode. So no more choosing which server you want, customising servers for admins and no mod tools either for the game. So loud is the outcry that a petition has nearly 75000 signatures in a very short amount of time, which you should sign here. Maybe the developers will delay the release and patch it or release a patch on release day. People are cancelling pre orders right left and centre and should be another message saying that gamers want dedicated servers.
It is hard to deal with pirates these days. People will download or burn games and software when they do not want to buy it. But games like Borderlands and Forza 3 are leaked out and Microsoft has started to ban players who play those games on Xbox live. People who legitimately have purchased the title should be safe from Microsoft’s magic ban stick of doom.
Do you know anyone who has been banned for doing something like this?
In one of those oops moments, a developer from Naughty Dog, replied to a post on the official PlayStation forums about people using Skype in game which can cause unfair advantage. His reply was "But I will suggest it anyway. Not to mention that the next PS3 firmware update is going to allow cross game chat. So if players use that instead of in-game communication then they would also be able to communicate enemies [sic] positions..." When this was realised, the post was deleted, but word spread like wild fire. The update should be out shortly.
