With the prequel called Dead Space: Extraction just recently released here, it is sadly on the Wii only, while the original Dead Space games were on the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. Now we are being told that Dead Space 2 is about to enter production within the next few months, powered by rumours for job postings. While the game is a green light, it is not confirmed when it will be out or what consoles it will be available on.
Will Dead Space 2 satisfy players and will it be available on all consoles compared to the prequel?
Even though Street Fighter 4 is still being played by some people since its release, Capcom have announced a new flavour into the mix and it is a damn big mix. Originally it was thought of as a leak or an elaborate hoax, but it has been confirmed real. Super Street Fighter 4 is now due out next year. It will be disk based, will not be full priced, will have a special surprise for previous owners of Street Fighter 4, new characters to the roster like T Hawk returning and new characters like Juri in a rumoured 8 new character line up. Add that in with various tweaks and enhancements and seems Capcom is onto a winner.
It a hotly anticipated game due for release next year, time for you guys to start drooling over the possibilities of the game. If you click this link, you can get a sneak peak of Subject Zero, as she was revealed at the Tokyo Games show recently. Watching this clip makes it seem she is a deadly yet foxy femme fatale.
What do you guys think about her? Will this be a good game?
With the new PSP Go almost hitting shelves, it will not have a Universal Media Disk (UMD) drive to play existing movies as everything will be download only. The project to create a program to convert these UMD disks for the new PSP Go has been terminated by Sony. The reason it was terminated was due to technical and legal reasons. So to actually play these disks, it seems you need to keep your old PSP for it or grey area software if it gets developed.
I know you guys think that USB could be one of the greatest things ever for the pc, but it has just gotten better. A Dutch storage company called Freecom has fired the first arrow of a new era in USB technology. With USB 3 officially called Superspeed, its new supposed speed is 4.8 gigabits per second, compared to 480 megabits, which by contrast leaves USB 2 for dead in the modern world. They released the first USB 3 external hard drive and tested it by copying over some movies. The results are scary: a 5 gigabyte movie took only 38 seconds to copy over. Unfortunately there is a downside in which you need a special PCI bus controller card to tap into the speed and special drivers that will be available for Vista and 7 (but Linux already supports it since earlier this month).
Ever since the bombshell news of Left 4 Dead 2 being banned down under, other developments have appeared. The latest DLC to come out for the game is called Crash Course and will follow on from the No Mercy campaign and fill in what happens between that campaign and Death Toll. This is due out on the 29th of September (presumably the 30th here). The DLC is free for PC users but unfortunately the Xbox 360 guys will have to drop some coin. The demo for Left 4 Dead 2 will be released on October 27, with it probably skipping the Ozzie audiences for the time being, with the game banned last week. On that note, no further developments have appeared except for Valve being bummed about it, but hopefully they will rectify the issue so we can all play the sequel.
In what seems to be a minor mistake could prove costly for everyone involved in the gaming business. In Germany there are laws which make things illegal that contain anything to do with Nazi’s. These include swastikas, propaganda, recordings, everything. So it seems that a few of these banned items have made their way into the game and now is being yanked from the stores. No comment has been made by the publisher Activision as of this time.
Do you think that a game having Nazi objects warrants a banning in Germany?
If you are into Mixed Martial Arts or any combat sport, you are in for a treat. With MMA getting bigger each year, so are the games. The basis is simple, you choose what martial arts/techniques you can use best against you opponent while trying to be well rounded fighter who can stand up and kick/punch, clinch, wrestle and doing ground work with submissions or more striking. The UFC, which is the biggest promotion in the world, has just released its game called UFC 2009 Undisputed earlier this year, now giant EA wants in on the action. Basically in EA’s game, it is involving anyone who is popular on the scene to sign up, regardless of the promotion they fight for. They have already signed up Fedor Emelianenko, Bas Rutten and Randy Couture, who are arguably some of the biggest names ever in the sport. Add in Frank Shamrock who is a 5 time former UFC Middleweight champion and you have a contender with some big names being put into the game. With a big list of names from all over, it seems to have pissed off the UFC who has threatened removal from the UFC if they sign up for the opposition’s game. Their game itself has sold over 3 million units, but only has fighters in their promotion. The game itself is due for release in 2010 sometime and will be available on Xbox 360 and PS3.
Are you interested in MMA? Will this be a good game to get?
This game is big and due to some charitable work, Microsoft has made some money to a big charity that needs it. They put special Xbox 360 Beatles themed consoles for sale on eBay which garnered $17,300 USD, which will be given to Doctors Without Borders. They also released a special Xbox 360 exclusive song in the hit “All You Need Is Love,” which quickly became the fastest selling Rock band song in less than 2 days from being released. Just like the special Xbox 360’s, all proceeds will be going to Doctors Without Borders as well.
Should their be more charity driven game events like these?
